Brief Ministry Descriptions
Adult Faith Formation - Lectures, discussions on many topics throughout the year on Sunday mornings and other special events.
Archives - Preserves the historical significance of St. Peter Church along with its art, artifacts and documents.
Building/Maintenance - Oversees maintenance and care of the church and physical plant.
Communication - Keeps members and the greater community informed about all the activities at St. Peter through the web site, signage, brochures and other means.
Eucharistic Ministers - Assist with the distribution of the Eucharist at liturgy and to the sick and homebound.
Finance - Oversees the budget and financial needs of the parish.
Friends of St. Peter's - An organization of parishioners and non-parishioners who are committed to preserve and maintain our historic church.
Greeters - Welcome visitors and newcomers to the liturgy.
Hospitality - Provides refreshments after weekend Masses and other occasions throughout the year.
Lectors - Proclaim the Word of God at liturgies.
Liturgy - Assists in planning our liturgies during the special seasons and throughout the year.
Men's Group - Plans social, spiritual, educational and service activities for the men of the parish.
Ministry to Sick - Coordinates visits, bringing the Eucharist and other needs to the sick, shut-in and those in nursing homes.
Music Ministries - Cantors choir members and other musicians provide music to enhance our liturgies.
Nursery - Cares for our youngest members during Sunday liturgy and special events and oversees the nursery.
Office Help - Assist in the office with such tasks as mailings and answering the door and phone as needed.
Outreach - Serves those in need in the community through many ongoing activities and projects.
Prayer Shawl Ministry - Make shawls for sick and shut-in, as well as blankets for babies on their baptism.
Religious Education for Children - Many ways to be involved: Teach our children as a Catechist of the Good Shepherd, 7th & 8th Grade teacher, lead Children's Liturgy of the Word during Sunday liturgy.
Sacristan - Sets up altar and prepares and cleans vessels for liturgies.
St. Martin de Porres Shrine & Institute - Sponsors many spiritual and educational events throughout the year in the legacy of St. Martin de Porres.
Stewardship - Raises awareness among parishioners of the need to be good stewards of their gifts in order to continue the mission of the parish.
Trivia Night - Help Fr. Tom plan this annual night of fun, fellowship, wisdom & wits!
Ushers - Ministers of hospitality at our liturgies.
Women's Bible Study - Weekly study in parishioner's homes.
Women's Guild - Sponsors social and service activities for the ladies of the church. Supports the weekly maintenance of the altar.
Young Adults - Single and married people in their 20's and 30's, who gather regularly for spiritual, social, educational and service activities.
Youth Ministry - Ministry to teen students including faith development, social activities and service projects.
