ALTAR GUILD

Greetings to all the Women of St. Peters!

I am so honored and excited to be serving as your new St. Peter Altar Guild president.  We already have lots of things planned for the upcoming year.  Our goal is to provide a way for the women of the parish to get to know each other as well as provide for and maintain the altar.

I would like to extend a special welcome to any new parishioners and encourage all current parishioners to invite them to a meeting to get to know the wonderful women of St. Peters.  We will meet the third Sunday of the month from 5 – 7 pm (September through May) and will have a program at each meeting as well as a light supper.  We promise a fun and enjoyable evening and know you’ll meet some great friends!

Below is a listing of the various committees and their needs.  If you could help us out in some area, we would be very grateful! If you are able to attend the meetings only, please come – we would love to see you!

If you have any ideas for future programs, comments or suggestions, please email me at KJohnson@TheEyewearGallery.com or feel free to call me at 763-2020.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Kay Johnson
Altar Guild president

ALTAR GUILD SCHEDULE OF EVENTS -
Details of each event will be emailed to you closer to each event.

February 21 - Mary Anne Macdonald of Organize By Design will speak at Catherine Stalling’s home.
March 21 – Mark Goscienski of “Have Pan Will Travel” catering will do a cooking demonstration at Martha Payne’s home.
April 18–Wine, cheese and parables with Fr. John Pitzer at Liz Neel’s home.
May date to be announced – Fr. Tom Condon  - home mass followed by a potluck dinner

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer your time for one meeting only or for a longer time span.  You could bring a dish or beverages to one meeting, open your house for a meeting next year, make telephone calls, organize our email addresses for the guild, make posters for publicity, volunteer to clean the altar or be on a committee.
Again, if now is not a good time to volunteer your time, most importantly we want you to come and enjoy the fellowship!!

COMMITTEES
Hospitality Chairman – Gail Donato. We especially need help in January and February. Gail has menus planned, but needs about 5 or 6 people to volunteer for each meeting to bring a dish or beverages.  If you are able to help, please email Gail at gail.donato@gmail.com

Membership Chairman – Amy Daniels   Kathy Connor.
We plan to use email as much as possible, but we may need a few people to help with a telephone committee or mailer for those who do not use email.  We could also use some help in condensing and formatting our email list. adaniels@memphischamber.com or ConnorTF@aol.com

Flowers and Decorations Chairman – Beth Buchignani – Come and start learning the art of decorating the church during the liturgical seasons of Christmas, Lent and Easter.  Please email Beth at beth.buchignani@gmail.com

Altar Maintenance Chairman – Mary Ellen Restivo.
We always need new altar cleaners.  We work in teams of 3 or 4 and you can sign up to do it once a month or the occasional 5th Sunday of the month (only 4 times a year!).  Please email Mary Ellen@   mer1962@comcast.net

Fund Raising Chairman – Pam Gallagher
- Our main fundraisers are the November bake sale and flower donations for the altar at Christmas and Easter.  Pam will need help with publicity, organizing the bake sale next year and collecting the envelopes for the flowers.  Please email Pam at yellowponymom@gmail.com
