RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation
(Please see current schedule below)

Welcome to St. Peter Church!

Are you a person who is not Catholic, but find that you are curious about the Catholic Church?

Do you sometimes wonder if you might like to know more about who we are?

Then our parish Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) sessions are for you.

You might be asking: “What exactly is the RCIA?” The short answer is: “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the way people become Catholic today.” The longer and more complete answer is: “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is an official series of stages and celebration of rites which move adults from first questions about God and the Catholic Church to full communion with the Catholic Church by participation in the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).”

St. Peter Church RCIA sessions meet on most Thursday evenings and are open to all who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Participants include (but are certainly not limited to!):

• Adults who have never been baptized in any church, but would like to investigate or pursue the possibility of becoming Catholic.

• Adults who have been baptized in a Christian (but not Catholic) church, and would like to investigate or pursue the possibility of becoming Catholic.

• Adults who were baptized in the Catholic Church, but never completed their initiation by celebrating the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

• Adults who are married or dating a Catholic and would like to learn more about their loved one’s faith.

If you think you might be interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about our faith,
please contact:

Fr. Tom Condon, O.P. at tmcondon@bellsouth.net

Fr. John Pitzer, O.P. at jmpitzer1@bellsouth.net
