Called and Gifted Workshop

January 13, 2015

The Called and Gifted Workshop: Equipping Catholics to be Lay Apostles for their Mission to the World

Friday, February 20, 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, February 21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Cost: $10 for lunch. (Pay at door.)

To celebrate our parish’s 175th anniversary, we are bringing to Memphis two dynamic speakers from the Catherine of Siena Institute for the Called and Gifted Workshop. Each of us is called by God and gifted with unique gifts and charisms. This workshop helps us discern and discover these gifts.

Our presenters are Mary Sharon Moore and Charlie Hoover.

Charlie Hoover attended a Called & Gifted Workshop in 2004 and immediately began incorporating discernment and use of gifts into his prayer and relationship with Jesus. Charlie currently serves the Lord at a major bank where he leads an information systems department. He received a Certificate in Theology from Creighton University and currently serves as a RCIA catechist and lay spiritual director for Christian Experience Weekend retreats, leads bible studies, and occasionally offers presentations on a variety of faith topics. Charlie is discerning a call to return to school for graduate work in scriptural theology and to pursue a teaching ministry.

Mary Sharon Moore, author, speaker, vocational consultant and spiritual director, has been teaching the Called and Gifted workshop nationwide since 2002. As a Spiritual Gifts interviewer, Mary Sharon brings unexpected clarity, vocational focus, and encouragement to lay Catholic men and women in their charism discernment. Mary Sharon’s four books include Anointed for a Purpose and Moving in God’s Direction, and her radio podcast Awakening Vocations can be heard on www.kbvm.fm, Catholic Broadcasting Northwest. More at www.awakeningvocations.com.

You can learn more about the Called and Gifted process at http://www.siena.org/Called-Gifted/called-a-gifted.

The Called and Gifted Workshop is a 175 Celebration event, and we are grateful to sponsors Mary and Frank Stanley for making this event possible.

St. Peter parishioners have served the people of West Tennessee with their gifts for 175 years….let’s continue the tradition!

We have a few limited spots. Please register as soon as possible.

Note: If you already registered, you should have received an email this morning. If you did not, please contact Christina at [email protected].
