VIRTUS: Protecting God's Children for Adults
This special training is required for anyone who works with children, and is strongly encouraged for all parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and parishioners interested in the welfare of our parish children. At St. Peter Church, it is expected that at least one parent of all children/teens participating in our parish religious education, youth group, or altar server ministry have this training.*Volunteering for a Ministry involving Children:  According to Diocesan rules, all those (18+) volunteering for a ministry involving children or teens must complete VIRTUS Training and undergo a criminal background check.  Catechists are also expected to attend catechist formation sessions and participate in the Diocese of Memphis Catechist Formation.

If you suspect that a child is in imminent danger, please call 911 immediately.

If you suspect sexual abuse of a minor by a cleric, church worker or volunteer:
FIRST, call the TN Child Abuse Hotline 1-877-237-0004
THEN, call the diocesan Victims Assistance Coordinator 901-652-4066

The Catholic Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee encourages all victims, or parents of minors who are victims, of sexual abuse by a bishop, priest, deacon or diocesan employee or agent, to report such abuse.
